Therapy is a courageous act

Individual Therapy

Step 1:

During the initial session, I will gain an understanding of what brings you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish in our work together. My priority is to develop our relationship, put you at ease, and establish trust.

Step 2:

We will then get to work on your goals, whatever they may be. I infuse relevant evidence-based skills and tools in each of our sessions. In addition to helping you achieve your goals, my priority continues to be to cultivate our relationship and create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted as you are.

Couples Therapy

Step 1:

During the initial session, I will gain an understanding of the reason the two of you are seeking therapy, and explore the current state and history of your relationship. While doing so, I am also focusing on fostering our relationship.

Step 2:

We each have our own life experiences and histories that shape who we are. Therefore, it’s natural that our life experiences and worldview will influence our relationship. To get to know you individually, I will schedule a separate session with each of you.

Step 3:

Following the individual sessions, the three of us will come back together and identify your goals as a couple. We will then get to work utilizing the Gottman Method. I am on your team throughout.
